My name is Carlos Pereira I'm 26 years old, I was born in Madeira Island (Portugal) and I have been practising Judo for the last 15 years.

My family history connects me with Newcastle since my grandparents went to live there 29 years ago taking with them my uncles, so I visit the "toon" with some regularity.

This year I decided to take some friends of judo with me and we looked for a club on the internet for us to practice while we were on our holiday, we found Newburn's website and arranged our visits to the club, we were very pleased with the reception we've had, and we return to our Island with a very good impression of the club.

The club has a very good number of Judokas, very dedicated to the sport, and very friendly as well, we couldn't have wished for a better reception as we felt part of the Newburn family since the first minute we've stepped into the matt. In 15 years practising judo this was definitely one of the moments for the "book of memories".

The least positive point was that we only had one week to visit the club, but the experience was really positive and we travelled back home already making plans for a new visit as soon as we can.
